Simstefano trail [5 housrs]

In Wonju and Hoengseong, Gangwon-do, there were no Catholic sanctuaries during the Byeongin Persecution in the late Joseon Dynasty. Then, while exploring this path, in the village of Golau, where this road passes, a Catholic named Simstefano was captured and martyred by a grape-cheong-po-jol dispatched from Seoul, not a local government. The Baugil Expedition called the village Simstefano and named it Simstefano-gil. It is the path of a pilgrim's heart in honor of a martyr.
